As a child I had a lovely rocking horse a family friend brought from Russia. Of course as a kid, I never appreciated the hand painted flowers or the intricate woodwork, but after rediscovering that treasure last time I visited my parents, I now have a new found appreciation for eastern European folk art.
From the nesting dolls of Russia to the cheerful floral patterns of Sweden, folk art is the "art of the land". Usually hand made with traditional tools and methods, folk art pieces would complement any vintage or boho decor.

The abode
Our little 350 sq ft. cottage was built in 1948 and consists of items ranging from the Victorian era to about the 1960s. Fueled by the love of history and the obscure we tried to implement museum like qualities in our home with oddities and various trinket and nature collections. I adore the Victorian era but I hate the pastel, floral and doily aspect of it. I wanted my home to give off more of a gentleman's study feel, you know, chesterfield sofa, animal skin rug, the smell of old books. I'm not quite there yet, but I'm content with what I've been able to do with my tiny space and very limited budget.
Introductions
I'm Rebekah. A twenty-something living simply with my husband (Chuck) in Tampa, FL. In all honesty, I'm writing this blog because my life has become annoyingly monotonous. Despite my Pinterest being packed with a plethora of projects, recipes, ideas and inspiration, I find myself never getting off the internet to actually attain this lifestyle Ive been aspiring to.
No more.
This will be the documentation of adventuring, trying new things, tips I've found to make life easier (especially on a limited budget), along with inspiration and frivolous information for the curious mind. If you take delight in culture, vintage items and decor, indie and retro fashion, art, good food, DIY, and the occasional geekery, stick around =)
