Eastern European folk art

As a child I had a lovely rocking horse a family friend brought from Russia. Of course as a kid, I never appreciated the hand painted flowers or the intricate woodwork, but after rediscovering that treasure last time I visited my parents, I now have a new found appreciation for eastern European folk art.

From the nesting dolls of Russia to the cheerful floral patterns of Sweden, folk art is the "art of the land". Usually hand made with traditional tools and methods, folk art pieces would complement any vintage or boho decor.
